Hey. I’m Lauren.
Three years ago, I quit my job as an editor at a news and culture blog in New York City to travel around South America. I figured I’d spend a few months doing that before heading home to rejoin the grind, but surprise! I’m still at it.

I’ve traveled to over 30 countries on five continents, generally for several week- or month-long stretches, and usually alone. This blog is an attempt to capture some of the things I’ve experienced in my time on the road; things I think are interesting but don’t have a specific news peg or obvious home for publication. (That said, if you’re an editor who wants to get in touch, BY ALL MEANS.) It’s also a great way to let my mom know I’m alive. Hi mom!
Beyond this blog, my work has been published in Jezebel, Atlas Obscura, VICE, Deadspin, the Village Voice, Gothamist, and several others. You can see more of my work here. If you want to say hi, feel free to shoot me an email at lnevans9@gmail.com.
